<---that would be me, the "elle" in "elle & gee". "elle" as in the letter L as in Lauren. a 23-year-old who can look 12 if she tries hard enough. :) in pursuit of a Master's degree and on my own for the first time with that child of mine [read more about her below]. i don't know what i thought motherhood was going to be like, but i know i never imagined how absolutely fun and exciting and scary and tiring and reflective and perceptive and mushy it would be/make me. i'd like to think i've maintained a bit of my pre-Gee sarcasm and charm, though. i'll let you be the judge of that. ;)
this sweet baby girl would be little miss Gee, as in "G", as in Gabriela. an 14-month-old diva in training with more personality (and hair) than some people 20 times her age. no jokes. becoming her mommy is the best decision that i've ever made, and although she may have come quite unexpectedly, she was right on time. :) she loves to eat and dance and run all over our apartment, give mommy slobbery kisses, and socialize with everybody. "...and when she smiles, the whole world stops and stares for awhile..." does it not? i mean, look at that grin... ah, made you stop and stare, didn't it? LOL.
and this is us, the elle and the Gee in "elle&gee"! this is just a personal blog. "we" share our thoughts, stories, highs, lows, yes's and no's... call it my way of making sure that the early years of Gee's life are (pretty much) accurately remembered, so that when she has children (40 years from now! LOL), i won't have to keep saying "chiiiiild, i don't remember all that." because i probably won't, but at least she'll have the stories in this blog to answer some of her questions. however, in the present, it's a baby/mommy/daughter/grad student/LIFE blog. and if you think that our lives might possibly interest you, feel free to read your heart out. :)
-love always, elle&gee-
